I am so excited to have purchased the original painting of Spectrum. Seeing April's work online really intrigued me. I had been looking for something that would really bring a spark of light into my living room. The ~3x4 size was perfect for  my empty wall and the flowing of the rainbow "spectrum" was something I've always been attracted to in an abstract image.  I decided that making the purchase of an original would be worth the gamble not knowing if I would be able to get to view it before it was snapped up by another patron. The online process was easy and April responded back to every inquiry within the day. She asked if it would be framed or left with canvas edges and the wired the painting for me.

When I first beheld the original, I was ecstatic. The texture of the canvas surface with paint thrilled me more than I expected. Each stroke of color layered in a purposeful manner but flowing as elegantly as notes from a well tuned cello. Oh my, the blend of color in each stroke is an image in it's own right! Each flick of the wrist gave the painting depth and energy, no matter if you look at a small section or if you step back for a full view. It's very meditative and dynamic at the same time. And that's the feeling from every painting of this series that April has hung in her cozy home gallery. There are always a bright few spots that draw you in and then leads you into an organic discovery of color and texture. You will not be disappointed in the quality of execution.

It was so nice to meet April in person and have her speak about her favorite pieces and what inspired them. You can tell how much she enjoys her process and the product.
